This song is from the narrative of a child, who is caught up in the middle of his parents arguing and separation. It is the desperate thoughts that the child is having during this tough time. From the lyric 'mother, i know that you're tired of being alone' it is clear that she is living alone, and the father has legal custody of the child. This is backed up by the lyric 'daddy I'm alone, cause this house don't feel like home' which shows that he misses his mother being around and he no longer feels that he has a real family, as his mother is no longer there in the house with them. His desperation within the situation is truly heard with the lyric 'but if you love me, don't let go'. Here, he is asking his dad to hold onto his mother, if not for the sake of their love. but for the sake of their child.
