Prior to actually creating my media products, or planning them, I had to conduct a lot of research into existing music videos, digipaks and magazine advertisements. I researched the codes and conventions of these products. A convention is the way that something is usually done. If a product is conventional, it sticks to the sort of ‘rules’ that have been created and they are easily recognisable to the audience. There are certain conventions to different forms of media, and there are different conventions of different genres. Below is the research and planning I have done of the codes and conventions:
